Fauna Nocturna

Digital photographs and video, 2016-2022

The Fauna Nocturna project began when I discovered that coyotes had dismantled and played with a ceramic installation I created in my yard. The following week they urinated on a second installation and rolled its components down the hill.  Since then, I’ve employed hunting trap cameras to document wildlife as they investigate the land I consider mine and to discover how they interact with the objects I leave behind for them.  These stills and videos document attempts at interspecies interaction and acknowledge how land use and ownership alter during the course of a day.
